Client Background
The client is a multinational company operating in Australia, with learning and development needs spanning multiple regions rather than a single local office. This meant the ideal L&D Manager needed to think beyond one market, designing training that could scale and adapt across different teams and geographies.
The Challenge
The company needed a Learning & Development Manager with two specific capabilities most candidates don’t combine: genuine regional training design experience, and hands-on capability with digital learning platforms. Many L&D candidates are strong in one area but not the other, skilled classroom facilitators who haven’t worked with LMS platforms, or platform-savvy administrators without real instructional design depth. Finding both in one candidate, in the Australian market, narrowed the pool considerably.
Because the role sat within a multinational structure, the successful candidate also needed to be comfortable working across regional stakeholders and adapting learning content for different market contexts, not just designing a single, one-size-fits-all program.
