Scaling an IT Team for an Eight-Month Project
An Indian IT company operating in Sri Lanka secured a project that required additional software engineering capacity beyond its existing internal workforce. Rather than permanently expanding its technical team for a requirement with a defined project lifecycle, the company decided to use IT staff augmentation in Sri Lanka to access additional software engineering talent for the duration of the project.
Formix was engaged to provide suitable software engineers who could integrate directly with the client’s existing development team and contribute to the project under the client’s technical and operational direction.
The Challenge
The client already had an established technology team, but the project created an immediate requirement for additional engineering capacity. Hiring permanent employees for a project with an expected duration of eight months could create unnecessary long-term workforce commitments after the project was completed.
The company therefore needed experienced software engineers who could join the existing team, understand the project requirements, collaborate with internal developers, and contribute throughout the defined project period.
The challenge was finding professionals with the right technical capabilities who could integrate quickly without creating disruption to the client’s existing development environment.
