Developing Employees Around the Luxury Guest Experience
A leading luxury hotel in Sri Lanka wanted to strengthen the capabilities of its workforce and create greater consistency in the guest experience. With employees interacting with guests across multiple departments, the organization recognized that service quality depended heavily on communication, professionalism, teamwork, and employee behaviour.
The hotel partnered with Formix to develop and deliver a structured hotel employee training and development program in Sri Lanka, focusing on the practical skills required to deliver a consistent luxury hospitality experience.
The Challenge
Luxury hospitality requires a high level of consistency. Guests can interact with reception, reservations, food and beverage, housekeeping, customer service, security, and management teams during a single stay.
A single poor interaction can influence the overall perception of the hotel. The organization therefore needed employees across different functions to understand service expectations and communicate professionally.
The hotel also needed to develop supervisors and managers who could maintain service standards while effectively managing their teams. Identifying Training Priorities
Formix worked with management to understand the hotel’s workforce, guest experience objectives, employee responsibilities, and key development requirements.
The training program focused on customer service, professional communication, guest handling, workplace behaviour, teamwork, leadership, conflict management, and service excellence.
Training priorities were adapted according to employee responsibilities, ensuring frontline employees and management received development relevant to their roles.
