Colombo, Sri Lanka Formix has announced a new global partnership that expands its Employer of Record (EOR) services to more than 150 countries, making it the first company operating out of Sri Lanka to offer EOR coverage at this scale.

The announcement comes as global demand for flexible, compliant hiring solutions continues to grow. Companies across Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, India, Bangladesh, the Maldives, and other Asian and European markets are increasingly looking for ways to hire talent in new countries without the cost and delay of setting up a local legal entity. An Employer of Record allows a business to do exactly that the EOR becomes the legal employer on paper, while handling payroll, tax filings, statutory benefits, and labor law compliance in that country, so the client company can focus on the work itself.

To deliver this at scale, Formix has partnered with Deel, one of the world’s largest EOR and global payroll platforms, already used by thousands of companies to manage international teams. The partnership brings together Deel’s global payroll infrastructure and compliance network with the recruitment, onboarding, and account management capabilities Formix has built up over the years working with clients across Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, the Maldives, and Australia. For clients, this means sourcing, hiring, and compliant employment can now be managed through a single point of contact, rather than juggling separate vendors for recruitment and for legal employment.

Industry watchers note that EOR services in Sri Lanka have historically lagged behind more developed outsourcing markets like India and the Philippines, with most Sri Lanka-based providers limited to a handful of countries or requiring third-party subcontracting. The 150-plus country footprint now available puts Sri Lanka on more equal footing with EOR providers based in larger regional hubs.

Speaking on the announcement, Ramesh Jayanithu, Founder and CEO, said the partnership marks a turning point. “This is the first time a company based in Sri Lanka can offer EOR services across more than 150 countries. It’s a strong signal that Sri Lankan companies can build and deliver at a truly global standard, not just serve as a back-office location for others,” he said.

The company said the new EOR offering will sit alongside its existing staffing and executive search services, which currently serve client companies across India, Bangladesh, the Maldives, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and other countries across Asia. Clients already using Formix for recruitment will be able to extend those hires into full EOR employment contracts without switching providers, the company said.

The move also builds on Formix’s existing standing in the market the company currently holds the #1 ranking in Sri Lanka on both Clutch.co and The Manifest, two widely used platforms for evaluating B2B service providers.

Formix has not disclosed the commercial terms of the partnership. The EOR service is expected to be available to new and existing clients immediately.
