Building a Project Team for an Apartment Development
A Sri Lankan construction company was preparing to launch and develop a new apartment complex and required additional workforce capacity to support the project from its preparation stage through completion.
The requirement extended beyond construction professionals. The company needed an administrative team to support project preparation, coordination, documentation, and day-to-day project activities, while also requiring sales executives to manage customer enquiries and sell apartment units throughout the development period.
Rather than permanently expanding its internal workforce for positions directly connected to a single apartment development, the company engaged Formix for project-based staff augmentation in Sri Lanka.
The Challenge
The project created several workforce requirements that were directly connected to the apartment development. Administrative employees were required to support the preparation and coordination of the project, while sales executives were needed to promote the development, engage potential buyers, follow up on enquiries, and support apartment sales.
The company needed these professionals for the duration of the project rather than as permanent additions to its wider organizational structure. This created a workforce planning challenge: the company needed sufficient people to support the project while avoiding unnecessary permanent headcount once the development was completed.
