Supporting Rapid BPO Growth Through Bulk Recruitment.
A growing BPO company in Sri Lanka needed to rapidly expand its customer service operation and required a significant number of Hindi-speaking call centre agents. The requirement involved recruiting candidates who could communicate confidently in Hindi while also meeting the company’s expectations for customer service, professionalism, communication, and operational discipline. Because the client needed multiple employees rather than a single replacement hire, the assignment required a dedicated bulk recruitment and headhunting approach capable of continuously producing suitable candidates.
Formix was engaged to manage the recruitment process and provide the client with a consistent pipeline of Hindi-speaking talent. The objective was not simply to advertise vacancies and wait for applications. The recruitment team needed to actively search for suitable candidates, screen them quickly, coordinate interviews, and maintain a steady flow of qualified professionals throughout the hiring period.
The Challenge of Bulk Hindi-Speaking Recruitment
Finding Hindi-speaking call centre professionals can become particularly challenging when a BPO needs to recruit several employees within a short period. Language capability was one of the primary requirements, but it could not be considered independently. Candidates also needed appropriate communication skills, customer-handling ability, availability, and the flexibility required to work within a structured BPO environment.
The volume of hiring created an additional challenge. With multiple vacancies being handled simultaneously, the client needed recruitment activity to move every day rather than waiting for a small number of candidates to become available. A slow recruitment pipeline could directly affect the company’s ability to expand its operations.
A Dedicated Daily Recruitment Process
Formix implemented a continuous sourcing and screening process specifically around the client’s Hindi-speaking requirement. Our recruiters searched across relevant candidate pools, contacted potential candidates directly, screened applicants, and moved suitable professionals toward interviews.
The recruitment operation was structured around a consistent daily interview schedule, with the team handling up to four candidate interviews per day. This allowed the client to continuously evaluate new candidates rather than waiting for a large batch to be completed before making hiring decisions.
The process also allowed Formix to maintain a wider candidate pipeline behind every interview. When a candidate became unavailable or did not progress after the interview stage, additional candidates could be moved forward without stopping the recruitment process. This was particularly important for bulk BPO hiring, where candidate availability can change quickly.
Recruitment and Headhunting Working Together
For this assignment, Formix combined traditional recruitment with direct headhunting. Recruitment channels were used to attract active job seekers, while our recruiters proactively identified and approached professionals who matched the Hindi-speaking requirement.
Candidates were screened before being presented to the client, with particular attention given to Hindi communication, customer service experience, overall communication ability, work availability, and suitability for a BPO environment. This helped the client spend its interview time with candidates who had already passed an initial suitability assessment.
The process also created a repeatable recruitment model that could be maintained as the client’s workforce requirements increased. Instead of treating each vacancy separately, the team managed the requirement as a bulk hiring campaign, continuously building and refreshing the candidate pipeline.
The Outcome
Through the structured recruitment and headhunting process, Formix supported the BPO’s rapid hiring requirement by maintaining continuous candidate sourcing and coordinating up to four interviews every day. The approach gave the client access to a larger pool of Hindi-speaking professionals while reducing the internal workload associated with sourcing, initial screening, and interview coordination.
More importantly, the recruitment process created a scalable talent pipeline that could continue supporting the client’s expansion instead of solving only one immediate vacancy. This made the engagement particularly effective for a BPO operation where hiring requirements can increase quickly as new customer accounts and service requirements are introduced.
